What?: We will help remove invasive plants as we learn about the area and its wild life.
When?: We will volunteer from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. Then those of you who would like to have lunch on-site can join us in their beautiful picnic area.
Where?: The Hassayampa River Preserve is 3 miles southeast of Wickenburg along U.S. 60. The preserve is on the west side of the highway near milepost marker 114. (You will see huge HRP signs on either side of the driveway.)

To get to the Preserve from Phoenix, take I-17 north to the exit for State Highway 74 (Carefree Highway). Follow the signs toward Wickenburg to Highway 60. Go north on Highway 60 for 7 miles.

Transportation?: Those wanting to carpool can caravan from Temple Chai at 8:00 am. Please let us know if you can drive or need a ride. You can also meet us at the Preserve at 9:20.
RSVP: We need to know how many of you will be joining us. Please contact Martha at: fynedesign@gmail.com.

There are plenty of environmental action and conservation volunteer opportunities around the state and in Israel. Here are just a few to get you started:

The Nature Conservancy has nine preserves in Arizona where we can arrange to volunteer for a day with an EcoChai group. All of the preserves have beautiful hiking trails and picnic areas. We can also arrange for a speaker to present a program on environmentally important areas in Arizona.

Become a Nicodemus Apprentice Ecologist. Kids and teens can organize clean-up events in their community and compete for a $500 scholarship in the annual ecology essay contest.

Volunteer for Tempe's Urban Park Landscape Project, including Papago Park and Hayden Butte Preserve.

Go ECOGoEco is a volunteer organization in Israel that integrates travel adventures with the opportunity to contribute to the welfare of the local population and ecosystem you visit. Volunteer opportunities in Israel include a sea turtle and wildlife reserve, animal care and conservation at Jerusalem's Biblical Zoo, and working with migratory raptors.
